Ganduje Inaugurates State Governing Board of NYSC members
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has inaugurated the state National Youth Service Corps Governing Board.
The move is aimed at achieving the objectives of the scheme in the state in accordance with section 6 and 7 of the National Youth Service Corps Administrative Act dealing with membership of the state governing board.
The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said the Board members were carefully selected across different sectors of human endeavour and urged them to work hard for the overall development of the scheme and assured them that the state government is fully committed to supporting the service at all the time.
He then congratulated the members and wish them successful discharge of their mandate.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Governing Board, Professor Abdu Salihi, pledged to work hard for the accomplishment of the set objectives and thanked the state government for selecting them to serve in the capacity.
Similarly, in her remarks, the NYSC state Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Tata Muhammad, commended the state government and assured them of NYSC total support at all the times.
Members of the Governing Board include Major A.Abubakar representing Nigeria Army, ACP Uzairu Abdullahi representing Nigeria Police,Naziru Ahmad Ya'u representing Ministry of Commerce, Ibrahim Yahaya Yakasai representing Ministry of Education and Musa Yahaya Bichi Permanent Secretary, Special Duties Directorate in the office of the Secretary to the state government.
Others are representatives of Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry for Local Government, as well as Hajiya Aisha Tata Muhammad, the State Coordinator, who is to serve as Secretary of the Board.
The Board's assignments commenced immediately.
