Empowerment training of 6,200 women from across the state

His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR led the visiting team 6 of the National Defence College Nigeria headed by Comm A.O Ayobajo to Federal College of Education Bichi to inspect the ongiong empowerment training of 6,200 women from accross the state.

It will be recalled that the team 6 of course 26 participants from the NDC are in Kano on a working visit to study the empowerment programme of the state, which is part of their course, and 11 teams were sent to 11 various states to study their empowerment programme as a tool for the enhancement of national security.

The team listened to presentations by commissioners of Women Affairs and that of Youth, Sports & Culture on the various empowerment programmes the state embarked upon and today, the team are in Bichi, to see for themselves, the ongoing training of 6,200 women on various skills that include soap making, air freshner, turaren wuta and food items like dashishi, alkubus and kunu among others.

The trainees will receive start up funds at the end of their programme to enable them start a business with the skills they acquire, in order to sustain themselves and their families. They are also expected to train others, as they were taught by those who were previously trained by the ministry of Women Affairs recently.

The team 6 will also visit Kadawa Insemination Centre tomorrow, to inspect cattle artificial incimination to be conducted by those that were trained in Turkey recently by the administration of His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR under the ministry of Agriculture.
