Ganduje Awards Contract for Multi Billion Naira Cancer Center in Kano

Kano state government has awarded a N2. 4 billion contract for construction of a state-of-the-art cancer center at the Muhammadu Buhari Specialist hospital in the state capital. The center is the first of its kind in any public hospital in Nigeria.

The project is coming on the heels of a visit to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center, Melbourne, Australia, one of the world’s leading cancer research education and treatment centers, by Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje recently.

Kano First Brain Surgery : Ganduje Assures More Service Delivery In Health Sector

Kano witnesses an epoch making history and a Medical breakthrough, when in the last barely two days the first Brain Surgery was conducted in the state, at Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital, Giginyu, Kano, on Ali Iliyasu, who was suffering from brain ailment in the last 26 years, after an accident.  

The leader of the Surgeons who conducted the surgery,  Consultant Neuro-Surgeon Shu'aibu Dambatta, reveals that, "The patient had an eleven (11) Months appointment with another different facility before he came to us and we accepted to conduct the open brain surgery on him."

The New Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu Pediatric Hospital has Commenced Full Operations

The multi billion Naira Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu Pediatric Hospital in Kano municipality, completed by the Ganduje administration, has commenced full operations with the employment of professional personnel to manage the facility. Presenting offers of appointment to 140 medical and paramedical personnel employed by the government, through Northfield Services, the managers of the facility, Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated that a key condition for the recruitment of the workers was that none of them shall engage in any form of industrial action.

Polio Immunization: Kano State Government takes Campaign to IDPs Camp

Kano State Government has extended its Immunization Plus Days IPDs against polio virus to Internally Displaced Persons IDPs Camp in the State to prevent the spread of the virus over the influx of IDPs from Boko Haram ravaged states.

During the just concluded July round of the polio IPDs, Kano health workers stormed the IDPs camp in Hotoro and immunized hundreds of under five children for five consecutive days.

The rationale behind the exercise was aimed at sustaining the unrelenting efforts of the state Government in its 38 months record of uninterrupted polio free status.

As No. 1 global Cancer Centre lauds Ganduje's effort in the health sector

In an effort to effectively treat cancer, its spread and strengthen research in the area, the Kano state governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has visited an Australian Cancer Centre, which is the best Cancer Centre in the world, Peter McCulene Cancer Centre (PMCC).

With this collaboration, it means Kano would establish a technologically advanced Cancer Centre that can boast of an advanced state-of-the-art facilities, that could better serve the interest of a patient.

61st National Council on Health: Kano State Launches Six Health Intervention Programmes

Twenty Development Partners Hail Ganduje for Intervention Against Polio

In appreciation of efforts being put by the government of Kano state under Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in the fight against poliomyelitis diseases, which results into polio-free period of three consecutive years, in the state, an amalgamation of development partners commend the governor for achieving that feat.

Not only in the area of polio eradication, they commend him for his unrelenting efforts in the overall areas of health care delivery system since his assumption into office in the last three years.
