Governor of Kano State Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's effort in developing the state was appreciated in far away Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UAE), by the Aldersgate University College International Consortium, which consists Europe, Asia and Africa. Together with the full blown support of their regional partner and organiser, HALI Management Consultancies.
The recognition was conveyed to the governor, who was ably represented by the Special Advisor, Media, to the Governor, Saluhu Tanko Yakasai, at the 5th edition of the European Professional Doctorate - EU Convocation ceremony, that took place at Atlantis Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai recently, that was organised by the university, with the aforementioned partners, alongside India Trade and Exhibition Centre.
At the event Ganduje's efforts in the areas of health, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, education, security, rural development, water and sanitation and his unrelenting commitment in sourcing independent power projects were all highlighted and commended by all the participants.
When Ganduje's name was announced to the hearing of all participants, he attracted resounding standing ovation. His representative, Yakasai stood for about 35 minutes, when governor's sectoral achievements were being discussed by not less than 5 experts in different human development areas.
It was announced to all, at the occasion that, Ganduje was invited to bless the occasion and see to himself how his style of leadership was being appreciated across the globe. All in a preparation to award him with a specially designed Honorary Doctorate next year, within the first quarter of the year.
Some of the high points highlighted at the event concerning Ganduje's achievements included his resolve to complete abandoned projects left behind by previous administrations. In this category, they made mention of the two ultra modern specialist hospitals of Muhammadu Buhari, Giginyu and Sheikh Khalifa Isyaka Rabi'u on Zoo road.
Under this category were the independent hydro power projects at Tiga Dam and Challawa areas, with the view to addressing low supply of electricity and to revamp the industrial might of the state.
Another issue looked at was that of the completion of Murtala Mohammed Way flyover. That was left at less than 15 percent by the immediate past administration. But it is more than 98 percent completion as at the time of that event.
Special Advisor Yakasai's presentation at the event on the situation in Kano on ease of doing business environment created by Ganduje administration, made sudden interesting remarks from many the business community at the occasion. Particularly when some foreign investors indicated interest in coming to Kano for investment.
Kano's health contributory scheme for workers, attracted many accolades to Ganduje's commitment and determination in the welfare and effective health care delivery system to workers in the state.
Interestingly, the recent distribution of 100 electricity transformers to various communities across the state, was also referred to at the occasion, expressing that, that singular act by the administration of Ganduje through the Ministry for Rural and Community Development, was enough a reason to understand how caring the administration of governor Ganduje is for the development of the state.
