   Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has extolled the Muslim faithfuls for blending well and observing the Ramadan fast with patience and understanding amidst the COVID-19 scourge, saying this sacrifice would encourage the government to exert all possible efforts and available resources to fight the pandemic.

   Few days to Eid-Fitr Sallah celebration, Kano Mobile Court working with the law enforcement agents arrested 45 vehicles that disregarded the lockdown order and ban on inter-states movement at Kwanar Dangora, Kano-Kaduna boundary, Thursday.

Under the Chairmanship of Salisu Idris Sallama, the Court fines all the law breakers accordingly. From over 45 vehicles that sneaked and arrested, while trying to force themselves to Kano, over 30 of them were from Kaduna state, 10 from Jigawa and others from other places.

Covid-19: Kano Releases Protocols on Friday and Eid Prayers

   Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Wednesday met with Imams of Kano Friday Mosques urging them to comply with the COVID-19 protocols as enunciated by health professionals during the upcoming Eid and Friday prayers.

Ganduje, at the meeting held at Kano Government House, reminded the Islamic Clerics that prior to the index case of COVID-19 in the state to the present situation of the novel disease, the clerics have always being carried along.

Kano issues Guidelines on Extended COVID-19 Lockdown

   As a way of fine tuning the recently extended lockdown of Kano state by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 for another two weeks, Kano state government has released operational guidelines for the controlled easing of the pandemic-induced restriction. 
 
The state commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who made the revelation in a statement, said government is fully aware of the difficult but necessary hardship people have to pass through which informed the need for controlled enforcement.
 

Kano Non-Partisan Elders Meet Gov. Ganduje, Promise Committed Intervention

   Spirited with the love for their state, amid COVID-19 challenges, non-partisan Kano elders, who are mostly professionals serving and retired, technocrats, businessmen, among others, met with the governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje via teleconference and assured their support unrelentedly.

Under the Chairmanship of AB Mahmoud, SAN, elders' concern, as disclosed by the governor, was how to improve community engagement in the fight against the disease in the state. 

Ganduje releases N285 Million for Kano COVID-19 palliatives

   Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has released N285 million to the Kano COVID-19 Fund Raising Committee to be used for palliatives.

This it said will enable it complete distribution of palliatives to over 300, 000 households targeted in the state.

The chairman of the Committee, Muhammad Yahuza Bello, made this known while addressing journalists at the government house on Wednesday.

  Impressed by the response of the Kano state governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in the fight against COVID-19 in the state, the Envoy of the Minister of Health on COVID-19 to Kano State, who was also the pioneer Director General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control  (NCDC), Prof. Abdussalam Nasidi, said, by what they saw on ground when they came, "I can say what governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is doing in the state, I cannot, so far, see any governor doing that."

REPATRIATION OF ALMAJIRAI: KNSG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO INTEGRATION POLICY

   Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the full implementation of its policy on the integration of the Almajiri system as a component of Free and Compulsory Basic and Secondary Education in the state.

This is coming against the background of the highly politicized repatriation of Almajirai children to their states of origin particularly in the Northern part of the country.

COVID-19: KANO EXTENDS LOCKDOWN BY A WEEK

   Kano state government has announced the extension of the lockdown imposed by one week to help further combat the spread of the novel COVID-19 pandemic.

The state commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who made the announcement said the decision was reached after due consultations with the federal government and key stakeholders in the health sector.

He said the measure is aimed at further reducing indiscriminate person to person contacts
 which is considered as one of the major ways the disease is being spread.

COVID-19: BUA GROUP DONATES N2BN, AMBULANCES, OPERATIONAL VEHICLES TO KNSG

   The chairman of BUA Foundation, Alhaji Abdulsamad Isiyaku Rabi’u, on Monday donated the sum of N2 billion, five ambulances and 20 Hillux Vans to Kano state government, as his contribution to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Also, the Flour Mills Nigeria PLC, donated N5000 Test Kits and the sum of N1 billion through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), promising to send ventilators to Kano state Government by next week.
