COVID-19: Ganduje, Wife Test Negative

   Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state and his wife, Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, have both been tested negative for COVID-19. 

"We thank Almighty Allah for this result which shows negative. That is how He (Allah) wishes. All those whose results are positive, we will continue praying for their quick recovery from the illness irrespective of race, nationality, ethnicity, social status, political or religious affiliations,"  he said.

  The main Kano Isolation Centre located at Kwanar Dawaki Hospital which is a 72 bedded facility, out of which 27 are ICU with ventilators, and other state of the art equipment.

The CEO and Chairman, BUA Group, Alhaji Abdussamad Isyaka Rabi'u, has today donated a 3-storey building in Kano to serve as befitting Covid-19 isolation centre.

Alhaji Abdussamad has already instructed his contractors to immediately commence renovation of the gigantic structure, located along Court Road, and furnish it with state-of the-art beds and all other facilities needed for a standard isolation centre.

The donation was conveyed to the Kano State Fund Raising Committee on Covid-19 through Abdussamad's sibling, Alhaji Karami Isyaka Rabi'u.

   Barely 24 hours after the inauguration of Fund Raising Committee on Covid-19 in Kano State by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, individuals and corporate organizations have started responding positively.

An elder statesman and multi billionaire business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has today  announced a donation of N300million to the committee.

In addition, Kano-based businessmen, Alhaji Abba Sumaila and Alhaji Abubakar Dalhatu, chairman Al-Amsad Group, have donated 500 sacks of spaghetti and N5million respectively.

COVID-19 : Gov. Ganduje Re-Inspects Second Isolation Centre

   Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has paid an inspection  visit to the second isolation, the Kwanar Dawaki Diagnosis Centre, a 70-bed facility, yesterday Thursday.

The Diagnosis Centre that  serves as the second Isolation Centre, is a 70- bed capacity with 15 Wards and 2 Intensive Care Units with 7 beds capacity each.

 There are also 27 Ventilators, 14 out of which are standby and 13 are mobile. There are 20 Oxygen Concentratos with all other needed equipments. All the machines are functional and ready to manage any eventuality. 

COVID-19 : Kano Closes Borders

   Kano State government has ordered the closure of all routes linking to the state from other parts of the country. 

The order is part of measures being taken to curtail the spread of Corona Virus disease (Covid-19) in the state. It takes effect from mid night of Friday, 27th March. 

Accordingly, therefore,  all vehicular and other kinds of movements into or going out of the state are banned. People coming to through the  Domestic Wing of Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) will remain at the airport as they will not be allowed to enter into the city.

Covid 19 : Gov. Ganduje Inaugurates State Task Force

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has inaugurated State Task Force on COVID-19 as a strategy ti institutionalise rapid response against the current global situation.

The inauguration was preceded by a setting up of Covid-19 Emergency Response Committee by the Governor few days ago.

The Taskforce has many scholars and health experts from Bayero University Kani, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and other health institutions alongside development partners.
