His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR today, laid the foundation stone for the construction of 61 new blocks of classrooms at Darmanawa Primary School at Tarauni Local Government.
A total of about 366 new classrooms will be added to schools spread across the 44 Local Govternments of the State. Governor Ganduje also inspected the ongoing construction of some classrooms, he inspected the one at a primary schoool at Unguwa Uku.
Kano state needs a total of 25,000 new classrooms to accomodate its entire school children, and the administration of Dr Ganduje has remain focused in ensuring that they are provided.
Each year, Governor Ganduje's administration puts forward ita counterpart funding to access funds allocated for the education sector by the federal government in order to imrpove the sector. This year, N1Billion was provided as counterpart funding by the state to match the federal government's N1Billion for the development of Education in Kano.
