Gov. Ganduje Governor Donated N15Million to Startups at Student Innovation Challenge 2018

The Vice President of Nigeria His Excellency Professor Yemi Osinbajo accompanied by His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR, attended the Student Innovation Challenge 2018, which held at the Dangote Business School at Bayero University Kano.

The Student Innovation challenge is a competition aimed at promoting innovations in our higher institutions accross the country which was the brain child of the Vice President, and already the South zonal pitching was done in Lagos, while that of the North is happening today in BUK and another one will take place in the East soon, and 50 Start Ups will be selected to make a final presentation in Abuja where winners will be selected and prizes will be given to each for the successful take off of their ideas.

A total of 600 applications were received for the Northern Region, out of which 54 were shortlisted who will also join the other successful start ups from other regions at the finals in Abuja. Today, 3 Start Up teams were selected as the judges choice and Dangote through his representative also donated N10Million to the innovators, while the Governor of Kano State on behalf of his admin donated N15Million, NCC donated N20Million, while NDIC donated N10Million to the Student Innovation Challenge and NITDA also donated cash prizes to the judges choice.
