Kano State Government and Hunan Province in China have signed Friendship Memoranda of Understanding in order to boost the bilateral relationship between the two major cities of Nigeria and China respectively.
The Acting Governor of Kano State His Excellency Prof Hafiz Abubakar led the Kano State Delegation to receive the Governor of Hunan Province His Excellency Xu Da She and his delegation who arrived Abuja yesterday from China, for the talks and signing of the MoU between them.
It will be recalled that His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR was in China last year and also held talks with the Governor of Hunan Province who was then represented by His Deputy and other top government officials, after which the Governor and his delegation held similar talks with the President of the chamber of commerce and other potential investors.
Upon Dr Ganduje's return from that trip, the President of the Chamber of Commerce from Hunan Province led 30 other Chinese investors to Kano, to explore areas of investment in the state which included Mining, Agriculture and Commerce among others.
The success of that trip, is what led to a follow up trip by His Excellency Xu Da She and his team to Nigeria for continuation of talks and expansion of the bilateral relationship between the two major cities, which led to the signing of this latest MoU, which both parties are expected to benefit from immensely for their overall economic development.
The Acting Governor was accompanied by Commissioners and other top government officials from the state.
