FG's Extended Special Public Works Programme launched in Kano

Kano State Governor Dr., Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said despite economic challenges, his administration has focused its attention and resources on human development in all spheres.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, made the statement during the flag off of the Extended Special Public Works Programme at the Kano State level held at the Convocation Arena, Bayero University Kano.

Zabarmari Tragedy : Gov Ganduje Led Delegation To Borno For Condolence 

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has led powerful delegation to Borno state where he commiserated and condoled with the government and people of the state over the recent massacre of farmers of Zabarmari town by the Boko Haram insurgents.

Gov. Ganduje visited the Borno State governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum and members of the Executive Council, alongside other top government functionaries at the Government House.

Kano state Government has reiterated commitment to reduce Maternal Mortality and under 5-year children mortality in the state.

The state commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, made the statement during a Maternal and Peri-natal Death Surveillance Response Biannual Review meeting.

KANO AGROPASTORAL PROJECT TO DEMARCATE 1,950 KM STOCK ROUTES IN KANO

Kano State AgroPastoral Development Project, KSADP, will spend millions of Naira to support the survey, demarcation, gazettement and monumentation of 1,950 km of stock routes across Kano state.

Presently, Kano State has 1,450 km of major stock routes and 500 km of minor stock routes many of which have been blocked by farms or infrastructure, forcing herdsmen to traverse through farms to reach water or grazing areas, which often leads to violent clashes with farmers.

KNSG RE-OPENS SCHOOLS, REVISES ACADEMIC CALENDAR

Kano State Government has approved Monday, 11th October, 2020 as an official date for the re-opening of both Public and Private schools in the state.

This was disclosed by the state commissioner of Education, Hon. Muhammad Sanusi Sa'id Kiru while briefing pressmen on the development.

He said that  Primary 6 pupils of Public schools and Primary 5 from Private schools are to resume on Sunday 11th October 2020.
