2nd Wave of COVID-19: Gov. Ganduje Meets Kano Emirs

As part of the quick response to tame the effect of the 2nd wave of COVID-19, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state met with the five Emirs from Kano, Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya Emirates.

During the meeting, Governor Ganduje assured them of his administration's commitment towards the fight against the dusease.

2nd Wave of COVID-19: Ban on social gatherings include clubs, concerts, says KNSG

Kano State Government has said that the ban it imposed on the activities of viewing and event centres extends to clubs, concerts, street parties and other large social gatherings as part of effort to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The state commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, said in a statement that all the restrictions have to be enforced “because safety of our people and their welfare are priorities that cannot be toyed with.”

KANO AGRO PASTORAL PROJECT AWARDS N314. 45 MILLION CONTRACT FOR RENOVATION OF WATARI DAM

Kano State Agro Pastoral Development Project, KSADP, has awarded contract worth N314, 454, 625. 80, for the repair of Watari Irrigation Scheme.

The irrigation scheme is situated downstream of the Watari dam, in Bagwai local government area of Kano state, and has potential for cultivation of vast hectares of rice, several irrigated crops and vegetables.

Ganduje Signs N177Billion 2021 Budget Into Law

Kano State Governor, Dr.  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has signed into law the state’s 2021 budget, amounting to N177.9 billion after the approval of the State House of  Assembly.

It could be recalled that Gov. Ganduje had on October 27 presented over N147.9 billion budget estimate before the state House of  Assembly for approval.

The Assembly, after deliberations on the N147.9 billion, had increased it to N177.9 billion.

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has described critics of his administration’s handling of some public properties including the Triumph building, Daula Hotel in the state as primitive with vague understanding for politicizing the move saying they can’t see beyond their noses.

He made the statement while on an inspection tour of the Multi-Billion Naira Kano Economic City, sited at Dangwauro area along Zaria road, a few kilometres away from the metropolis, Tuesday evening

Kano State Government will leverage services offered by Greenwich Merchant Bank to recover its economy  arising from the damage inflicted on it by COVID 19.

The State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, explained that this is because partnership with financial institutions such as the bank is essential to the revival of small and medium enterprises that were severely affected by the pandemic.

KANO STATE GOVT. TO BUILD 5, 000 HOUSES FOR TEACHERS

Kano State Government would construct about 5, 000 housing units for teachers in public primary and secondary schools in the state, under the first phase of a scheme aimed at providing decent accommodation for teachers and their families. 

The scheme, tagged Teachers Reserved Areas, TRA, will be implemented jointly by the state government, Family Homes Funds and the Federal Mortgage Bank, according to the state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
